FRIDAY (June 29): Cine Fantom Club, a program of Russian Experimental Cinema, includes the Aleinikov Brothers' I'm Frigid But It Doesn't Matter (1987), Happiness: The Movie (Grigoriy Dikkert and Lenka Kabankova, 2002) and more. $6 8 p.m.
SATURDAY (June 30): The Arab Film Festival screens "Confined and Exiled," a program of two documentaries on Palestinian life, Neither Here Nor There (Hicham Kayed, Palestine, 2006), about youth in refugee camps, and Waiting for Ben Gurion (Norma Marcos, Palestine, 2006), recalling the experience of being held at the Israeli airport. $6 8 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: It's Barbara Stanwyck's centennial and the Castro continues a three day tribute with the Pre-Code prison drama Ladies They Talk About (William Keighley, 1932; 3:45, 7 p.m. ) and Preston Sturges' sparkling The Lady Eve (1941; 2, 5:10, 8:30 p.m.)
THURSDAY: By common consent the roughest of the Pre-Code sex dramas, Stanwyck literally sleeps her way to the top in Baby Face (Alfred E. Green, 1933; 7 p.m.) and then is reformed by Fred MacMurray in the Sturges-scripted Remember the Night (Mitchell Leisen, 1940; 8:45 p.m.)
FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY (June 29-July 5): A new print of Gus Van Sant's debut feature, Mala Noche (1985). 7, 9 p.m.; also Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed 1:30, 3:15, 5 p.m.
CERRITO SPEAKEASY

This recently restored second-run theater, a sister theater to Oakland's Parkway, features "Cerrito Classics," a different revival every weekend, and other special programs. CHINESE CULTURE CENTER

DARK ROOM THEATRE

SUNDAY (July 1): "Bad Movie Night" opens a "Putting the Ick in Music" series with Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Michael Schultz, 1978), a Beatles-based musical with the Bee Gees. Judging from its trailer, the forthcoming Across the Universe looks about at the same level, although Julie Taymor's film won't have Steve Martin performing "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" this film does 8 p.m.
FOREIGN CINEMA
2534 Mission (between 21st and 22nd streets), 648-7600), www.foreigncinema.com. This restaurant screens foreign films, usually in 35 mm, on the back wall of its outdoor patio, with drive-in speakers available for the tables of those who want to watch while they dine. Free with meal.
DAILY: Get lost in Pan's Labyrinth (Guillermo del Toro, Mexico, 2006) through July 29. Starts at dusk.
FOUR STAR

FRIDAY (June 29): An "Asian Movie Madness" series screens two by Japanese cult filmmaker Takashi Miike, the ultra-violent gangster film Ichi the Killer (2001) and a fantasy intended for children, The Great Yokai War (2005). Call for times and other films.
